Calhoun-Burns Joins Kleinfelder
Calhoun-Burns & Associates and Veenstra & Kimm joined Kleinfelder in April 2025. Founded in 1961, Kleinfelder is a leading engineering, design, construction management, construction materials inspection and testing, and environmental professional services firm. Kleinfelder now employs more than 3,300 professionals and operates from over 110 office locations in the United States, Canada, and Australia.
History
Since its establishment in 1961, Veenstra & Kimm has remained committed to providing forward‑thinking civil and environmental engineering services. With decades of experience, the firm delivers high‑quality, customized solutions that support both infrastructure development and responsible environmental practices.
Calhoun-Burns & Associates began operations in 1982, offering bridge inspection and design services to counties and municipalities throughout Iowa, as well as the Iowa Department of Transportation. Over the years, it has built strong, enduring relationships with agencies at both the local and state levels.
In the early 2000s, the two firms came together, uniting complementary strengths and shared values under a common commitment to public service. Today, Veenstra & Kimm, A Kleinfelder Company, continues to build on this combined legacy by offering meaningful work, professional growth, and long-term career opportunities for the people who help shape the infrastructure of our communities.
